A reversible lush and dense striped cowl using a simple slipped-stich pattern to break up the mottled tones in the yarn; available in both a short and long version to wrap around twice if need be.

Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% superwash merino wool, 420 yds [402 meters])

“Afternoon” (peachy pink)  1 (2) skeins

"Smokestack" (grey) 1 (2) skeins



One U.S. 5  (3.75mm) 24” / 60 cm (32" / 80cm) circular needle

Change needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.


One stitch marker for beginning of round.

One yarn needle for weaving in ends.

One extra circular needle for bind off.


6 sts = 1" in pattern stich on US 5 / 3.75mm needle or size needed to optain gauge

The scarf is worked in the round, starting with a provisional cast on; at the halfway point, the pattern colors are reversed and the second half is worked.
