one us 8 (5mm) 16" (41cm) circular needle one us 8 (5mm) 40" (102cm) circular needle one us 7 (4.5mm) 40" (102cm) circular needle change needle size if necessary to obtain gauge. NOTIONS tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers, 4 stitch holder or a scrap of yarn, cable needle for optional cable panel.

Notes on reading the cable charts
the cable panel increases in stitch count as it is worked, and then decreases again. it starts with 38 stitches and increases from there. disregard the grey boxes as they are non-stitches that the panel increases into. choose to follow either the chart or the written instructions; if the chart is confusing, use the written instructions only.
