Of course, I can print a million sweater patterns off the internet. One reason I turn to Joji for a pattern is I know I will finish it, my desire to wear the garment once I'm finished over and over will grow with time. Joji creates garments I will reach for in my closet, thoughtlessly, repeatedly.

In many ways the action of designing knitwear is one of planning the functional use of wool, how best to wrap it around your body, how best to do this simply and efficiently.

 

The Basic Raglan Pullover is Joji at her best. A sweater crafted simply in a method that is efficient moving from the top of your body down to your waist, designed with minimal flourishes so the materials take center stage and sized with comfortable but streamlined ease.

This defines a staple garment to me.

GAUGE | 21 sts & 32 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette St

NEEDLES | US Size 6 (4 mm) circular needles & US Size 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles, at least 24", or size needed to obtain gauge.

NOTIONS | Removable Stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, and a tapestry needle.
