Shipping & Returns

Since your yarn is dyed specially for you, it usually takes about 2-3 weeks to dye, dry and ship out orders. Order by December 5th at midnight CST to make sure your order ships by December 17th. 

2021 Holiday Shipping Deadlines

The United States Postal Service recommends the following mailing and shipping deadlines for expected delivery by Dec. 25 to domestic addresses and APO/FPO/DPO (Air/Army Post Office/Fleet Post Office/Diplomatic Post Office) addresses*:

  • Dec. 17 — First-class packages (up to 15.99 ounces)
  • Dec. 18 — Priority Mail service

The United States Postal Service is temporarily suspending international mail acceptance for Australia due to impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other unrelated service disruptions. We will continue to monitor the situation, and for more detailed, up-to-date information, please check the USPS International Services Alerts page


Ready to ship products like Extras, One-Of-a-Kind, Books, Magazines, Mystery Grab Bags, etc. will usually leave our facility in 3-5 business days. 


Just a reminder, dye to order means after you place an order on our site, we expertly hand dye your color choices in Fort Worth, Texas. We operate with very little pre-dyed inventory in our warehouse. Dye to order makes each skein unique and special just for you
. Dye to order yarn in all bases and special kits will leave our facility within 10-14 business days, unless noted

We ship all domestic packages via United States Postal Service First Class Mail (USPS) by default, approximately 10-14 business days after the receipt of your order, or 14-20 business days if it is a large sale dye to order purchase, due to the larger volume of orders. Customers have the option to select UPS Ground or 2 Day shipping.


On July 1st, 2021, the tax/VAT rules for the European Union changed. What this means for our customers who live in the European Union is that we will no longer be able to ship to you due to our website hosting server. However, we have an LYS Locator page on our site that you can use to find the closest LYS to you. And you can always contact us at  and we'll do our very best to find the closest Madelinetosh stockist. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and we hope to be able to resume shipping to our customers who live in countries in the European Union as soon as we can! Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these new changes."

We are currently only offering UPS shipping for International orders. We ship approximately 10-14 business days after the receipt of your order, or 14-20 business days if it is a large sale, due to the larger volume of orders.

International shipments will ship UPS.

All international customers are responsible for their country’s customs fees and duties. Fees vary from country to country and is not responsible for these fees.

Customs forms are filled out in accordance with International law to accurately reflect package value and contents. Packages cannot be marked as “gifts".


For Domestic (U.S.A) packages: 

Contact with your order number, and tracking information and we will contact USPS and file a missing parcel claim that business day. USPS will then contact the last post office location your tracking information listed, and have them relocate the package, or confirm the delivery of the package.

Madelinetosh is not responsible for any items lost, stolen, or confirmed as delivered once they have been shipped. We can not replace, or issue a refund for packages lost, stolen, or confirmed as delivered once the package has left our facility.



Unused yarn in its original condition/packaging may be exchanged for a refund within 30 days of the date printed on the invoice enclosed in your package. Sale items and patterns are not eligible for return.

Refunds will be issued for the full invoice amount minus any shipping costs incurred. Shipping costs will only be refunded if your items were damaged or your order was improperly shipped thus prompting the return.

We will gladly exchange unused yarns for alternate color choices but shipping costs will be applied.

We will happily work with you regarding flawed or damaged skeins please contact us first prior to your return at to request a return shipping label.

Please, allow up to four weeks for all returns/exchanges to be received and processed.

Packages mailed to Madelinetosh which are ineligible for return will not be refunded.
